South Africa part 1

For the third time I spend the first weeks of the year in Dullstroom, South Africa. The training conditions and the high altitude are the reasons to come back in this village lost 250km east of Johannesburg.

During the 1st week we get use to the altitude and we spent 3 days in Kruger chasing the Big Five. But the strongest experience was certainly the bush walk and the meeting with a rhino. The guides sneaked us about 15 meters away from him with the help of the wind and the sun. We also disturbed 2 male lions digesting in the shadow of a tree after their breakfast.

Then it was time for serious training. We ran some high quality o-trainings with the Finns who were also here. The last two days have been quite hard with 2 fast trainings to improve our speed (4'-2'-1'-30''-15'') and our endurance (crescendo).
